Minimum Program Requirements
- You have lived and/or worked in Citrus County for a minimum of 1 year.
- You are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- You can commit to a minimum of 350 hours of “Sweat Equity”.
- Must attend Habitat homeowner training classes.
Need Requirements
- You do not already own a home.
- You are currently living in substandard housing, which would include any of the following conditions:
- Home is in poor physical condition.
- Home is overcrowded.
- Rent is subsidized.
- Rent is more than 30% of income.
- Your household gross income is between 35% and 120% of the area median income.
Payment Requirements
- You have proof of at least 1 year of steady, verifiable, annual income.
- You do not have any judgments or liens against you.
- You do not have excessive debt or multiple accounts in collection.
- You pay your rent on time.
- You can pay $2,000 towards closing costs.

Citrus Springs: Phase 2 Now Underway
Our Citrus Springs development is a cornerstone of our mission to provide high-quality, affordable homeownership on a grand scale. This expansive community is designed to include 176 homes, creating a vibrant and stable neighborhood for local families. We are thrilled to announce that we are successfully completing Phase 1 and moving right along into Phase 2, which will feature the remaining 100 homes.
These modern residences are thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of growing families, offering:
- Spacious Layouts: 3-bedroom or 4-bedroom floor plans.
- Convenience: Each home includes an attached one-car garage.
- Community Impact: By the completion of this project, nearly 200 families will have traded substandard housing for the security of a permanent, “sweat equity” home.
