Minimum Program Requirements

  1. You have lived and/or worked in Citrus County for a minimum of 1 year.
  2. You are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  3. You can commit to a minimum of 350 hours of “Sweat Equity”.
  4. Must attend Habitat homeowner training classes.

Need Requirements

  1. You do not already own a home.
  2. You are currently living in substandard housing, which would include any of the following conditions:
    • Home is in poor physical condition.
    • Home is overcrowded.
    • Rent is subsidized.
    • Rent is more than 30% of income.
  3. Your household gross income is between 35% and 120% of the area median income.

Payment Requirements

  1. You have proof of at least 1 year of steady, verifiable, annual income.
  2. You do not have any judgments or liens against you.
  3. You do not have excessive debt or multiple accounts in collection.
  4. You pay your rent on time.
  5. You can pay $2,000 towards closing costs.

Citrus Springs: Phase 2 Now Underway

Our Citrus Springs development is a cornerstone of our mission to provide high-quality, affordable homeownership on a grand scale. This expansive community is designed to include 176 homes, creating a vibrant and stable neighborhood for local families. We are thrilled to announce that we are successfully completing Phase 1 and moving right along into Phase 2, which will feature the remaining 100 homes.

These modern residences are thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of growing families, offering:

  • Spacious Layouts:  3-bedroom or 4-bedroom floor plans.
  • Convenience: Each home includes an attached one-car garage.
  • Community Impact: By the completion of this project, nearly 200 families will have traded substandard housing for the security of a permanent, “sweat equity” home.
